Selecting a Display Type

Golden View Display wants you to make an informed choice among our LCD products. The tech center provides you with most of the information you will need to understand liquid crystal displays.

Selecting LCD Display Technology

Here is a guideline to select a LCDs to meet your requirements in many aspects, such as cost, performance, and utility. We hope it can help you have a good understanding on the characteristics and properties of LCDs.

Here we categorize LCDs from different prospective of application as followings:

1.Table 1

1/64-1/240
1/240-1/480

Note:
1). For a good contrast, the T-V curve should be steeper enough, as the duty increase, a steeper T-V curve is required. From TN to 240 twist STN, the steepness of T-V curve gets steeper and steeper.
2) From TN to 240 twist STN, the response time become slower and slower, but the contrast gets better and better, and view cone gets wider and wider if the duty is determined, but the cost of LCD gets higher and higher as well.

3) the “v”” is our recommendation for you.

LCD performance terms.

1. Contrast: the comparison of black state and the white state, as indicated as a parameter of Ton/Toff.( T: abbrev. Transmittance)
2. Response time: including switch on time and switch off time, it is vital for displaying a moving picture, the shorter, the better.
3. View angle: the range of being readable of the displayed information (Cr>3), please keep in mind the contrast is a view angle dependent parameter.
4.Operation temperature range: a temperature range in which a LCD can normally display information.
5.Hue: the color of LCD in off-state.
